Jane Hammett



What I Do at SSU

I presently serve on the vocal faculty at Sonoma State University, where I teach voice lessons.

My Bio

In addition to Sonoma State, Ms. Hammett is on the faculty at American Conservatory Theater (ACT) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (Summer Music West).  At ACT she has taught singing, acting and musical theater in both the Young Conservatory and the MFA Progam, as well as served as Musical Director for five Young Conservatory world premiere musicals, and co-directed, with Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight, the Young Conservatory Cabaret and Musical Ensembles.  She has performed across the United States and in San Francisco in two national companies of The Phantom of the Opera and has earned two Bay Area Theatre Critics’ Circle Awards and a Drama-Logue Award for appearances with San Francisco’s Lamplighters, as well as sung many leading roles with Bay Area opera companies. She has directed productions for the Lamplighters, Pocket Opera, San Francisco Opera Guild’s Opera á la Carte, San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Summer Music West, and the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England. Ms. Hammett is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a 2008 graduate of the Certificate Program in Sound, Voice and Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Integrative Health Studies with Sound Healing Focus.
