What I Do at SSU

I teach studio horn, coach chamber ensembles, direct the SSU Brass Ensemble and coordinate music department marketing.

My Bio

Ruth Wilson performs with the Ukiah Symphony, Sonoma County Philharmonic, and in several chamber ensembles. She has performed as soloist with the Sonoma State Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Baroque Sinfonia Orchestra, and has taught horn at Sonoma State University since 2003. Ruth holds a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Hartwick College. She has studied locally with David Sprung, Pete Nowlen, Darby Hinshaw, Alicia Telford and Dan Nebel. Since 1986 she has written for newspaper and arts organizations and is a freelance program annotator. Ruth and her husband Brian are parents of one son, Jerry, a Studio Art major at New York University.
